14. Body electric equipment

Prevention

Before carrying out any works with system of electric equipment read about the precautionary measures described below and in section 6.

The system of electric equipment of negative grounding has working voltage of 12 volts. Food for system of electric equipment arrives from the lead-acid accumulator which is recharged from the generator.

In this section operations of repair and service of various elements of electric equipment of the car which are not connected with the engine are described. Information on the accumulator, the generator of alternating current, the distributor of ignition and a starter can be found in subsection 6.3, subsection 6.7, subsection 7.2 and subsection 6.9 respectively.

It is necessary to notice that during the work with any element of electric equipment of the car the wire of the negative plug of the accumulator has to be disconnected for prevention of short circuit and / or ignition.

Through regular intervals check an arrangement and fastenings of wires, you watch that wires did not fray about other elements. If you find out that any wires rub about other elements, take wires aside and fix them so that it did not repeat.

Prevention

If the radio receiver / stereoplayer installed on the car has system of the coding for protection against theft, remember that at a detachment of a cable of mass of the rechargeable battery the protective code of the radio receiver is erased.
