3.5.7. Chain cover

Arrangement of bolts of fastening of a cover of a chain to the block of cylinders of the engine

Bolts of fastening are specified by shooters.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the top cover of a chain of the drive of the mechanism of gas distribution and an asterisk.
2. Remove a head of the block of cylinders. It is theoretically possible to uncover a gas distribution mechanism chain without removal of a head of the block of cylinders, however in this case the probability of damage of laying of a head of the block of cylinders is high.
3. Remove the cooling system pump.
4. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft. When weakening a bolt of fastening of a pulley temporarily take a pulley of blocking of a bent shaft, and after removal of a pulley establish into place a blocking pin.
5. Remove the oil pallet.
6. Remove the generator.
7. Remove the pump of the amplifier of steering.
8. Unscrew the lower head of a natyazhitel of a chain and take a chain tension mechanism plunger.
9. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a cover of a chain to the block of cylinders of the engine and uncover. Keep in mind that bolts have different length.
	10. Unscrew a hinged bolt and remove top (1) and the lower (2) natyazhitel of a chain.
	11. Unscrew bolts (are specified by shooters) and remove the lower guide of a chain from the block of cylinders.
	12. Temporarily remove an asterisk from the fuel pump and remove laying of a cover of a chain then establish an asterisk into place.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Replace an oil sealing ring of a bent shaft.
2. Check that the interfaced surfaces of a cover and a head of the block of cylinders, the pure and dry and directing pins are in the nests.
3. Temporarily remove an asterisk from a shaft of the fuel pump, establish laying and arrange it on the directing probes. Establish an asterisk on a shaft of the fuel pump.
	4. Establish the lower guide of a chain.
	5. Establish natyazhitel of a chain and fix them by a hinged bolt.
6. Establish a chain cover into place, combine the drive of the oil pump with an asterisk of a bent shaft and pull a cover over the directing pins.
7. Gradually and consistently tighten bolts of fastening of a cover of a chain.
8. Establish a new sealing ring to the lower head of a natyazhitel of a chain.
9. Establish a pulley of a bent shaft.
10. Establish a head of the block of cylinders.
11. Establish the top cover of a chain and an asterisk.
12. Install the oil pallet.
13. Install the cooling system pump, the generator, the pump of the amplifier of steering and an auxiliary driving belt.
14. Fill in engine oil and cooling liquid in the engine.
15. Start the engine and check it for lack of leaks.
